Qantas Wellbeing app allows users to track and measure their activities with their phone or when synced with a smart watch to be rewarded with Qantas Points.

Qantas Wellbeing app allows users to track and measure their activities with their phone or when synced with a smart watch to be rewarded with Qantas Points.

Users can invite friends to challenges with, set personal goals, sync their Fitbit or Apple watch and earn Qantas Points for doing so. These points can be redeemed on flights as well as other rewards from the Qantas Store.

Challenge

Qantas wanted an interactive well-being app that keeps users motivated and engaged with their fitness goals. The app needed seamless Apple Watch integration to track activity, while creating a social, gamified experience that encouraged competition, challenges, and rewards.

Approach

I helped design their well-being app, integrating with current wearables to track activity in real time. Users earn points for steps and active minutes, which can be redeemed for Qantas rewards.

To drive engagement, the app includes personal and group challenges, leaderboards, and a badge system that rewards milestones and streaks. These social and gamified features encourage friendly competition and sustained motivation.

Result

Users responded positively to the app’s social and gamified experience. Challenges encouraged ongoing participation and helped users stay consistent with their fitness goals. Badges created a sense of achievement, while social features increased interaction and motivated users to return regularly to track progress and take part in new challenges.
